Don't make no kinda sense

President Obama addressed students today to send a message that there is no excuse for dropping out of school. The media found opposition to this message in some of the more extreme fringes of political society. Was this a media tactic to portray the conservative opposition as a little touched in the head? Perhaps. But never the less, they did find real people, just like the real people foaming at the mouth at town hall meetings and packing heat at protest rallies.

Who would oppose this message though? Isn't hard work, perseverence and self-reliance one of the cornerstones of conservatism? You'd think they'd be ok with this one at least. Maybe they're not thinking too clearly. Especially because their way of preventing their children from hearing about staying in school is to keep them home from school today.

The message itself isn't what's wrong...in fact it's a solid message. It's just ludicrous to believe, coming from someone whose entire platform rewards those who do the exact opposite of what he preached. To play Devil's advocate; why should these kids stay in school, work hard, excel in life, if their only reward is being fiscally punished for doing so under Barry's plan? If anything, that's what "don't make no kinda sense!"

What is "Barry's plan"? I've never heard of that before. I'm not sure how successful people are being fiscally punished either. I know several that seem to be doing just fine.

You've not read the platform of the party? You've not read about the "stimulus" bil, this joke of of a health care bill, nor the cap and trade agreement? (to name a few) And raising taxes on the "top 2%" financially successful individuals in the country (which I'd imagine stayed in school and worked hard)in a vain attempt to pay for these trillions of dollars in expanded govt. especially when they already bear well over 60% of the total tax burden for the nation isn't fiscally punitive? hmmm...confusing bro.

I'm very familiar with the party's platform. You know by know how I feel about cap and trade. The environment is easily my personal #1 issue.
And this Stimulus Bill? In my industry it's generating billions of dollars of revenue. So I'm ok with getting the money moving again. Banks are already starting to pay off their bailout loans, with interest. It was scary, but it appears to be working. What will be scary is watching interest rates skyrocket once confidence is restored to the market.

I know that Obama is looking to reverse tax breaks to the top percentages passed under Bush Jr. More taxes is not what anyone wants to hear. But neither is a ridiculous deficit that started piling up under Reagan and continued growing with the Bushes.

I'm pretty sure those affected by those tax increases aren't worrying about their next meal because of it. There were super rich people before those tax breaks were enacted. Somehow they didn't give up on amassing wealth just because they'd have to pay more. When I increase into new tax brackets, I moan but I don't go back to work and ask for a pay cut.

Started writing a response, but then it got too long! Check my latest post for my friendly rebuttal. Oh BTW thanks for the heads up on Fight Night Round 4, but I think I'm getting Marvel Ult. Alliance 2 instead.

Always a pleasure. I'm hearing good things about that Marvel Alliance game. May have to download the demo.
